Abstract

We want to make electronic circuits, such as single chips or small systems, more wearable. To achieve this, our approach is to integrate chips directly into the woven fabric instead of attaching electronics to the surface of the textile. In this project, a small integrated circuits such as digital temperature sensor is or LEDs are attached to a polyimide stripe and woven into a textile.

It is also important to model the mechanical properties of the resultant electronic textile, especially the stress imposed on a woven polyimide stripe (as well as the attached electronics) when it is embedded in the textile.
