Objectives

Today's state-of-the-art hearing instruments feature an automatic selection of hearing programs, supporting the hearing aid user with his different hearing needs. The audio signal is analysed to infer the hearing target. However, the audio signal alone often provides too little context information to unambiguously detect possible hearing targets. The goal of this project is to achieve an improved hearing target detection for a new generation of hearing instruments by taking into account additional sensor modalities. The exploration of these sensor modalities takes place in experiments with practical application scenarios.
