In this semester thesis, the development and implementation of an automatic online configuration was investigated. This configuration ws integrated into an existing framework provided for wearable EOG goggles developed in earlier projects.
The development of the automatic configuration was mainly done in MATLAB. Initially, two algorithms for automatic thresholding were developed. These thresholds are necessary for the saccade and blink detection algorithms. Afterwards, the algorithms were tested and assessed in an evaluation process. This evaluation consisted of a sequence, which obligates the user to make several blinks and saccades with different size. Afterwards the thresholds for this sequence were calculated and estimated.
Finally, the automatic configuration was integrated into the existing GUI. The automatic configuration process now consists of a sequence in which a given number of blinks and a default order of saccades need to be performed. Using this sequence, the thresholds will be calculated. Besides that, the configuration contains a check of the occurred saccades during the sequence, which gives the user feedback about the quality of the calculated thresholds.
